The work will include training IUPAT members on political processes and actions as well as working with labor and elected officials to ensure progressive policy continues to build power for working people in Colorado. Wage Theft Ordinance: Protection for Workers and Accountability for Employers Wage Theft Coalition is a fighting for an ordinance at the city level to protect the wages and benefits of workers. A wage theft ordinance would create an additional, more accessible mechanism for workers to recover their stolen wages and have a significant impact on workers’ ability to provide for their families. EPIC - Equity and Possibilities in Construction EPIC seeks to recruit, retain and develop women, non binary and people of color into apprenticeship programs with the Building and Construction Trades for opportunities and advancement. EPIC fights for greater possibilities and representation in the industry. Housing Justice- Colorado Homes for All COHFA is a coalition of individuals and organizations who have come together from every corner of Colorado to establish a different vision and to build a grassroots housing movement for equity and justice for all people. We are centered around a few core values and have structured this coalition to uplift the leadership and voices of those who are directly impacted by the housing crisis. We believe that housing is a human right and not a commodity. We believe that land and housing should be community owned. COJWJ is also one of the few grassroot organizations that is part of the Housing Taskforce, a group of appointed individuals who advice the way ARP money will be used in the state of Colorado. Immigrant Labor Justice Colorado Jobs With Justice organizes in solidarity with workers and supports the working class community who live in fear of deportation and work raids. CO JWJ has joined a coalition of organizations across the country and in Colorado via rapid response network that organize to combat forced family and worker deportations. We continue to advocate for the POWER Act, and demand employers cannot use ICE as a retaliation force deployed to silence and disappear workers who exercise their rights and demand what they deserve. The retaliation workers experience is a direct result of a vicious immigration system built for the benefit of big business. Corporate Accountability Corporations poor labor practices and standards put pressure on many other businesses to lower wages and benefits in order to compete. The result is an economy where our jobs, health care, and labor standards have all downgraded. But if we can change corporate practices and hold them accountable, we can improve the lives of all working people. - Corporate Landlords like Greystar and Blackstone -Tech Companies like Palantir who provide the tools to ICE for deportations and raids -Amazon, Lyft and Uber and other corporations who continue to misclassify and practice wage theft on their workers
