About the Organization
Colorado Jobs With Justice is a coalition of community, labor, student and faith groups that come together to build working class power and stand up for workers’ rights. We work in partnership with our member organizations in mobilizing direct actions for social and economic justice for all people, including the right to organize a union, rebuilding the social safety net, expand access to living wages and healthcare, and promoting equal treatment for all. We organize and base our work on a model of solidarity and reciprocity. Colorado Jobs With Justice is an equal opportunity employer. We seek a diverse pool of volunteers and applicants for all opportunities and responsibilities within the organization – with respect to women, people of color, the LGBT community, immigrants, and people of all ages and abilities.

The Community and Policy Organizer will take the lead on developing a comprehensive campaign to transform the low-wage, precarious conditions in the non-union construction industry. The Organizer will work alongside the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 81 to organize community support for immigrant workers fighting against wage theft, misclassification, and hazardous working conditions. Strategic Partnerships: This person will build strategic partnerships with allies among labor unions, faith communities, immigrant communities, and community organizations to form a network of allies who can be called upon to act in support of the campaign.

Policy Coordination: The Organizer will work with IUPAT District Council 81 and strategic partners to craft municipal policies that protect and build power for workers in precarious construction employment. They will identify elected officials to support policies and mobilize our base of community supporters to act in support of policies through letter writing campaigns, constituent meetings, lobbying, and direct action.
